HowLongToBeat info automatically displayed on the game page is wonderful for picking a new game to play from the library.A good resource for PC gaming is the PC Gaming Wiki. They open a whole other world of functionality. It just makes loads of stuff so much more convenient and seamless.Īnd don't even get me started on Plugins. Another example is for ensuring that ultrawide patches run where required either before or x-time after launching a game. That way I could keep HDR off on the desktop due to it not looking good, and automatically enable it only in games that needed it enabling prior to launch and then have it automatically toggle back off when I'm done. One example of what I used to do with it (before Microsoft added a keyboard shortcut for toggling HDR) was turning HDR on automatically when launching supported games and toggle it back off when the game closes. You can basically write your own arbitrary scripts to run before, during and/or after a game. One other thing I love about Playnite is the built in scripting functions. Lots of filterss and sorting options available too. I find the entire interface faster and more reliable than GOG Galaxy has ever been. That should produce something similar to what you had on GOG. To your other question: there is indeed a sort option for Last Played, and a grouping option for Installation status. Click "Start scan" and it should show you a list of games it found. it's great and saves you from having to repeat this process in the future. This will allow Playnite to scan this rom directory for updates whenever it is refreshing your library. Check the box that says "Save as auto-scan configuration". Click "Scan folder" and select the director you keep your roms in for this emulator. For the "Profile" dropdown I just go with default. Click "Add scanner", then choose the emulator you want to import games for from the "Scan with emulator" drop down. Now click the logo again and go to Add Game > Emulated Game. Hit Scan Folder and do this again for each emulator you wish to use, then when you are done click Import. It should auto populate the list with the program. On the Import window click "Scan folder" and choose the directory your emulator program is in. In Playnite click the logo in the top left corner > go to Library > Configure Emulators > click the Import button. I'm still relatively new to Playnite so there may be better methods out there, but here is how I add my emulated games: Not sure how much detail you want so I'll just go for overkill. Both are way better than adding each game individually on GOG. Setting up the emulators isn't difficult it is just different than what I'm used to with Launchbox. ![]()
